When you link a Bitfinex account to your Exchange Wallet, you will need to provide an API key and an API key secret. Besides, you also need to include Cobo in the IP whitelist and assign specific permissions to the key.

This article explains how to generate an API key on Bitfinex, including adding Cobo to the IP whitelist and setting permissions.

The content is subject to changes on Bitfinex. For more details, refer to How to create and revoke a Bitfinex API Key.
  1. Go to the API Key page on Bitfinex.

  2. Click the Create New Key tab.

  3. On the Create New Key page, switch on the Get account fee information option under Account Info and all the options under Wallets and Withdrawals.

  4. Under IP Access Restrictions, switch off the Allow access from any IP option, and enter Cobo’s IP address 18.177.234.7 and 18.180.16.190.

  5. Enter a label for the API key.

  6. Click Generate API key.

For security reasons, you will need to confirm the API key creation via your 2FA code.

With successful confirmation, your API Key and API Key Secret will be displayed in text and as a QR code. Carefully store the API key information, as it will be displayed only once.

You have now generated and set up an API Key. You can go to Cobo Portal to link your Bitfinex account with the API key and API secret key. To learn how to link your account, see Set up Exchange Wallets.
