AML Provider Settings

Configure your AML/KYT providers in this section. AML Provider Settings
SettingDescription
AML Providerโ€ข Select between Screening-integrated providers CipherOwl, Elliptic, BlockSec, and Cobo Premium.
โ€ข You can also select Custom Provider, meaning you do not use the integrated providers, but instead perform your own KYT checks and submit decision results via API (When this option is selected, configuring post-screening policies is not supported).
API KeyRequired for Elliptic and BlockSec
SecretRequired for Elliptic
  • Elliptic requires a valid API Key and Secret to function.
  • BlockSec requires a valid API Key (no Secret needed).
  • Cobo Premium is a risk screening service tailored for payment clients. It checks addresses and transactions with stricter standards. Please contact Cobo Support if you need to enable it.
Configuring AML providers requires an administrator-level role. Members without sufficient permissions will not see any selectable options in this section. If the AML Provider list appears empty, ask an Admin in your organization to configure the provider or to grant you the required role.

AML & Screening Settings

Customize how transaction screening behaves in different scenarios. Screening Timeout Settings
  • Screening Timeout: Configure what happens if an AML scan takes too long to complete. If the options are not checked, transactions will stay in the Pending Screening status until a result is received.
Setting appropriate timeout values is important for balance between security and user experience.
  • Refund & Isolation Screening: Determine whether to apply AML screening to refund and isolation transactions. If the options are not checked, refund and isolation transactions will be automatically bypassed.
  • Transaction Screening Policy: Configure screening rules separately for transfers between wallets within your organization on Cobo Portal (internal transactions) and all other transfers (external transactions). For each direction, you can define multiple amount tiers. Each tier covers a half-open USD amount range [lower, upper) and assigns one action to transactions that fall within it:
    ActionDescription
BypassTransactions in this range are released without AML screening
ScreenTransactions in this range are sent to your configured AML provider for screening
Custom APITransactions in this range are held for your own system to return a decision via API, independent of the global AML provider
Tiers must start at 0, be continuous (each tierโ€™s lower bound equals the previous tierโ€™s upper bound), and end with an open-ended catch-all tier (no upper bound). By default, internal transactions are bypassed and external transactions are screened.
Tiered screening policies are available for teams using Elliptic, CipherOwl, BlockSec, or a Custom Provider. They are not supported when using Cobo Premium.

Notification Settings

Manage who receives email notifications about important screening events. Manage Notification Recipients
It is recommended to include your Risk Management and Compliance teams as notification recipients to ensure proper oversight of screening activities.
At least one recipient must remain - you cannot delete the only remaining recipient.
