# Transfers (deposit / withdraw)

> Follow the steps to deposit and withdraw tokens using your Asset Wallets, including best practices for transfers.

## Prerequisites

* Before making transfers using your Asset Wallets, it’s recommended that you set up a [token transfer policy](/en/portal/risk-controls/off-chain-tx-set-transfer).
* For more information on the number of confirmations required for deposits, see [Required confirmation for token deposits](/en/portal/supported-tokens-and-chains#required-confirmation-for-token-deposits).

## Deposit from external wallets

1. Log in to [Cobo Portal](https://portal.cobo.com/login).
2. Click **Wallets** in the left sidebar, then select **Custodial Wallets**.
3. 4. Locate the type of tokens you want to deposit into the wallet, and then click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/cobo-6/1gr8oDjrSBewyAjO/en/images/mpc-wallet/icon_deposit.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=1gr8oDjrSBewyAjO&q=85&s=018f0553b4265af1ea1a2cc1e941a2c9" className="icon" width="32" height="32" data-path="en/images/mpc-wallet/icon_deposit.svg" />.
5. Copy the deposit address. Please ensure that the deposit address is accurate to prevent any transfer errors.
6. Proceed to your preferred external wallet to initiate the transfer to the deposit address you have copied.
